VENTURA POLICE RECOVER $1.3M IN STOLEN VEHICLES FROM THEFT RING

Ventura County authorities say they recovered more than $1.3 million in stolen and fraudulently registered vehicles following an investigation into an organized theft ring targeting luxury and high-performance cars across Southern California.

The case began after a 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, valued at roughly $105,000, was stolen from a Thousand Oaks dealership on May 19. On July 1, detectives carried out a coordinated operation in Los Angeles County, arresting Brandon Taylor and John Ivy on charges including vehicle theft, conspiracy, and possession of stolen vehicles.

Search warrants in North Hollywood and Los Angeles led to the seizure of blank temporary plates, high-end key fobs, fraudulent documents, electronic devices, and several vehicles, including a Lamborghini Aventador, two Porsche 911s, GMC Hummer, BMW X7 M60i, Ford Shelby GT500, Chevrolet Silverado 2500, and Chevrolet Colorado.

Both suspects remain in custody at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, with bail set at $250,000 each. #SpeedSuspects
